Gratitude

Maureen and I recently attended Kathie Donovan’s Course on Happiness. Kathie told us about the Law of Attraction and about the 8 principles of Happiness.  The underlying and most important principle is Gratefulness or Gratitude.  As Kathie says in her book Inspiration in Action, “we have so much to be grateful for and yet we take so much for granted”.

We learned that being grateful for our breath, for another day, for sunshine, for our children, for our partners, for everything that is in our lives, will bring us happiness… internal happiness not the external happiness we have all been thought to believe will bring us happiness.  We can seek outside of ourselves by buying this or that or by doing this or that, but true happiness comes from within.  And the easy and most effective way to access that inner happiness is through gratefulness.  Write down 5 things you are grateful for each day and feel the difference it makes.

We learned that what you focus on is what the Law of Attraction will continue to deliver.  If we focus on lack there will be more “missing” in our lives (whether it be love, money, relationships, etc.).  But, if we focus on abundance (and gratitude) there will be “more” delivered to us to be grateful for.  Try it out! You will be surprise with the results!
