Boundaries Bring Balance and Soooo Much More!

In this writing, we are offering a bit of a stream of consciousness regarding a recent Equus Coaching session – the herd was powerful in its participation and then our intrepid Mojo brought it all “home” – enjoy the ride!

It is a sparkling September day – September 11th to be exact – auspicious? Let’s begin with a herd observation exercise, yahoo! What the heck? All 4 horses were waaaaay in the back pasture a minute ago and now all 4 are crowded and I mean crowded at the front gate – this is new, what is this about?

Entering into their space the dynamics of integrating a new herd member was keenly felt – let’s walk to the back pasture and see what happens next – as the three of us headed forward the horses quickly lined up to go with us – we headed for some logs to take our seat and two great ones came into our space immediately – I was occupied getting up and insisting on creating more space for myself – Marlene supervised Molson, Foxview’s best dog ever, as the horses were finding him to be quite fascinating, perhaps a little too fascinating – at one point, three great ones surrounded our client sniffing and nudging from all directions – it was that this point, that Dusty, the lead mare, could not tolerate the situation any further – with a few steps in, ears down and a head swing, she cleared the space – aahhhh, that is better – what impressive, clear leadership!

And so our dialogue continued – how often do we allow others into our space and ignore that soft small voice, or that feeling of tension – are we conscious of the thoughts that seem to dictate to us in these situations – we realized the power of being clear about what it is we want, however, what does it look like when we actually ask for what we want – cave city?

Later in the arena, with our Great Mojo, we found our answers – Mojo, who typically loves HIS space and looking out the arena door, was all up in our client’s business, sniffing, nudging and the like – with repetitive, gentle but clear direction requested by the client, Mojo gave the space requested – the energy was soft, relaxed and safe – insights flowed –

Today’s horse wisdom showed us how in knowing what is in our highest interest, we simultaneously take care of the highest interest of all those around us – in doing so, we invite others to connect to what is in their highest interest as well – the result – fully authentic beings showing up for each other – how does it get any better than that – thanks Dusty, think we may be starting to catch up with you!
